A glimpse of a world left behind,
the simplistic necessity of living,
was the only worry, the only strife.
In good times and in bad,
there was always a way through,
no ends were dead, depleted,
it was all connected with time.
Memories were cherished,
the heart was bound in love,
focused on the bigger picture,
without fear of judgement,
or being cast aside.
But there is always a darkness,
that lingers in the balance,
waiting to reclaim the soul,
before it disintegrates, expires.
Whisked away to another world,
away from the here and now,
all that’s left is a shadow,
of a life once lived in full.
